  • and why you liked it.
  • The examiner will say: Here is your topic – you have 60 seconds to think about your answer. A pencil pen and paper will be provided for you.
  • You have to speak for 1 to 2 minutes.
  • After you give your answer. the examiner might ask 1 or 2 roundings out questions about your Part 2 answer, and then, Part 3 will begin.

Part 2 of the IELTS Speaking Test exists in order to test your English Fluency, and it’s important to understand now that ‘Fluency’ is not speeding!

“Fluency”┬áis your ability to communicate comfortably and clearly for an extended period of time. In the context of IELTS Part 2, this means speaking for the full two minutes about a single topic in a smooth, natural-sounding way. If this is one of your biggest problems, then I’ve got you covered. I have included some Fluency-Booster techniques at the end of this section to help you take your English fluency to a high-band level.

IELTS Speaking Part 2: cue cards always ask you to describe something from your life. Fortunately, there are a limited number of things IELTS Part 2 will ask you to describe. These include: Describe a situation, a person, a place / a location, an object/ an item.

  • TIP – You have one minute to prepare, Write two or three ideas you could talk about.
